Over 140 constituents attended the public meeting Therese hosted last week on the fourth stage of consultation on Sizewell C.
Therese said: "The biggest issue on which EDF are seeking views is transport. There are more details on these options, including a new hybrid model and on the timing of trains. Rather than putting more pressure on our road network, of the options presented, I am keenest on the rail-led option. It is really important when assessing these huge energy infrastructure projects though that we consider the cumulative impact on local communities, which is why I’m seeking a meeting with the new Energy Minister, Kwasi Kwarteng discuss that very issue. While I am no longer the Environment Minister, I still care passionately about the environment – and whilst Sizewell C will help the UK reach zero carbon emissions there is still a lot of work to be done to pass the natural environment impact test."
