Today is a historic day for rail transport in our part of the world as it marks the first Norwich in 90 and Suffolk in 60 trains. From now on, there will be two fast trains in each direction every weekday between East Anglia and London Liverpool Street.
Therese said: "I'm very proud of all the MPs who have worked together to achieve this, starting with our manifesto in 2012 and our prospectus in 2014. A great team effort, I particularly want to praise Ben Gummer, who did a brilliant job with Chloe Smith and Priti Patel leading the three counties' efforts in persuading Ministers to make the investment and I'm proud that the Conservative Government has made this happen."
Therese added: "Of course, this is only the beginning of the improvements on our railway, with the entire Greater Anglia fleet due to be replaced over the next 24-months - meaning passengers will be able to enjoy a more reliable and comfortable service."
