Therese recently contacted the County Council regarding the series of potholes across parts of Thoroughfare in Woodbridge and Park Hill in Leiston.
Therese said: "These potholes are dangerous and it is important that the Council deal with them in a timely manner. I am pleased to say that there should be more substantial works at the end of February and the first week of March covering the litany of potholes in the areas mentioned. Here are the replies I have had from the County Council":
—————
Thoroughfare, Woodbridge -
One pothole was observed on 21 December 2023 meeting our Highway Maintenance Operational Plan’s criteria for reactive repair. The repair was completed on 17 January 2024.
On 17 January it was noted that the carriageway was continuing to weaken. The identified pothole was therefore temporarily repaired at that time in favour of more substantial permanent repair to deal with the other areas of deterioration. This has now been
commissioned and will deal with the entire area and all emerging potholes that have recently formed.
Suffolk Highways is pleased to advise that this is scheduled to be completed in the first week in March.
The highways service will continue to monitor the condition of the area during monthly safety inspections following these repairs.

Park Hill, Leiston -
I can confirm that in response to a number of reports of potholes received by the service, an inspection was undertaken on 14 February 2024. As a result repairs were commissioned and are planned to be completed on 28 February 2024. Noting the concerns of residents and the risk of the defects worsening, warning signage has been installed to inform road users any hazards in the meantime.

I encourage all residents to continue to report any potholes to the Council and I will keep pushing for the repairs to be done quickly.
