Earlier this month, Therese visited Suffolk New College and was shown around the Ipswich campus by CEO and principal, Alan Pease.
During the visit, Mr Pease and other members of the executive team (Mary Gleave and Marianne Flack), were also able to reflect on the two Suffolk New College On The Coast campuses in Leiston and Halewsorth, both situated in Therese's constituency.
They also took Therese on a tour of facilities that included visits to construction, hair and beauty, motor vehicle, Net Zero Skills and the Tech Campus.
On the visit, Mr Pease said: “We were able to talk to Therese about our provision at Leiston and Halesworth and the support we offer Dr Coffey’s constituents at these campuses that have includes support for 100 young people on study programmes and has recently offered free family events and free cookery courses for those living in rurally isolated locations. We outlined our plans for the future at our Suffolk Rural and Ipswich campuses. We were also able to share our experiences as T Level early adopters. From our point of view, it’s great that our work is being recognised in the corridors of power.”
Therese said: “It was a pleasure to witness some of the outstanding work that is taking place at Suffolk New College. It is an educational establishment that is extraordinarily impressive.”
