"Last week, alongside other Suffolk MPs, I met representatives from HMRC to address the concerns of constituents affected by the allegedly fraudulent behaviour of Apostle Accounting based in Stowmarket.
I put across the need for HMRC to respond compassionately and fairly to those who were wrongly paid rebates for work expenses. Whilst I understand that HMRC is seeking repayments, it is essential that constituents are able to access fair and bespoke repayment plans for the sums owed. I was assured that this would be the case.
I was also advised that HMRC will shortly be publishing a fact sheet that will advise constituents on how best to proceed. I will circulate this on my website and via social media as soon as it becomes available."
