Therese met the new Chief Executive of the East of England Ambulance Trust, Tom Abell, at Saxmundham Ambulance Station recently. She was there to receive an update on the trust’s plan to improve response times for patients.
Therese said: “It was good to meet Tom and we had a very constructive discussion. I’ve previously raised concerns about ambulance response times, particularly in relation to stroke patients, which he is tackling.”
Therese added: “There's some great work happening on the frontline such as improvements with hospital handovers, meaning ambulances can get back on the road more quickly – and a recognition of further improvements still to be made in the interests and safety of patients.”
