Therese is reminding self-employed people in her constituency that the Income Support scheme is now open for the second tranche of grants.
The second and final taxable grant is worth 70% of average monthly trading profits capped at £6,570 in total. Applicants that received the first grant will be notified of the date they should make a claim for the second. You can also make a claim for the second grant, even if you didn’t claim for the first one.
Therese said: Self-employed people in Suffolk Coastal have already accessed £11.9m worth of Government grants in the first tranche of the Income Support Scheme to cover lost earnings. We made a commitment to help those people that self-employed through the coronavirus pandemic, just like we did with the Job Retention Scheme, and that is precisely what we’re doing. I encourage all those that are eligible to make a claim.
