The Planning Inspectorate’s pre-examination stage on the Development Consent Order for Sizewell C commences on the 8th July until the 30th September. Residents, councillors and regulators can now see all the proposals in detail and other documents for which we have been waiting, like the environmental impact assessment. This is a hugely important step in the process, enabling full scrutiny of the proposal.
I’ve started working my way through the key documents (636 in total). I'm also following up with the councils and regulators, particularly on the environmental impact, who have officers spending 100% of their time going through the fine detail.
It will take some time to go through and I will publish my response on my website before the end of the pre-examination stage.
The full details and associated documents can be found on the Planning Inspectorate website here - https://infrastructure.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/projects/eastern/the-sizewell-c-project
I'm also encouraging EDF to put the documents on their website too with a navigation guide.
