Therese is one of several politicians, business leaders and celebrities who are today backing a National Trust campaign to galvanise people to tackle the climate and nature crises.
The conservation charity is calling on people to seize the leap day by making one of a series of seemingly small but significant “Promises for Nature”. Suggestions include planting or sponsoring a tree, cutting food waste and switching to greener forms of transport. Following a parliamentary event hosted by the Trust at the House of Commons on Wednesday, Therese has pledged to plant a wildflower meadow in part of her garden.
Therese said: “I’ve made my promise and I’m calling on local residents to seize the Leap Day and make their pledge for nature.”
