Therese recently contacted Jonathan Denby from Greater Anglia to get an update on progress at Saxmundham station:
"He assured me that they have now secured planning permission - with the plan to create a new waiting room and another room which, after initial rail industry use, will be suitable for commercial or community use. They will also be creating additional car parking spaces outside the station and tidying that area up. Creating a proper, dedicated car park will be a positive step, especially as the impending introduction of new trains will make rail travel even more attractive."
"Greater Anglia is currently working on letting contracts - and expects work to start in the Spring with completion of the project set for Autumn 2020."
