Therese joined Prince William recently to welcome delegates from around the world to the fourth international Illegal WildlifeTrade conference in London.
Therese said: "This year's conference was the largest ever, with over 70 countries coming together to help end the insidious illegal wildlife trade once and for all, which is nearly as profitable for serious organised criminal networks as drugs and guns."
"A lot of the focus is on the big or cute beasts but we must remember it is mainly plants and trees, which get stolen and sold, denying these amazing animals of their necessary habitat. That said, we are making good parliamentary progress on the Ivory Bill, one of the world's toughest bans on ivory sales to help stop the poaching of elephants."
