NHS trusts across the country have today been allocated a share of £300 million to help upgrade their facilities ahead of winter.
Therese said: "I'm pleased to see that our part of the country has received a significant amount with East Suffolk & North Essex and James Paget Foundation Trusts receiving £3.05m and £2.20m respectively."
The money has been allocated for hospitals to expand waiting areas and increase the number of treatment cubicles, helping them boost A&E capacity by providing additional space, reducing overcrowding and improving infection control measures. Trusts could also use the funding to increase the provision of same-day emergency care and improve patient flow in the hospital to help the NHS respond to winter pressures and the risk from further outbreaks of coronavirus.
