Therese is urging households on low incomes to take up a government offer to pay for energy-saving solutions, including insulation and heat pumps.
Therese said: “This may seem too good to be true, but this is no scam and will reduce your energy bills this winter.”
To highlight the available grants including ECO4 and the Warm Homes Fund, Therese visited Woodbridge-based supplier, Sunlite Group. A family-run solar solutions business, who have been approved to install under the ECO4 and ECOFLEX schemes.
Therese said: “It was great to visit Sunlite and talk to Director, Laura Gooden, about the work they are doing to reduce people’s energy bills. I would urge local people or the families of vulnerable residents to take advantage of these government-backed schemes and encourage them to contact Sunlite for a free survey with confidence.”
Laura Gooden said: “The government-backed ECO4 Scheme is a fantastic opportunity to make homes in the UK use less energy and lower bills. The scheme offers either 100% free home energy efficiency upgrades from Government funding or partially funded in cases where home improvements to your home do not qualify for the full grant. I feel there is not enough publicity advising homeowners that this is a real scheme, and a lot of people therefore doubt this scheme is legitimate, the scheme however is only available if you meet the eligible criteria. With the rising energy prices this can help families and individuals make their homes better with improvements and keep the heat in, saving money on their utility bills for years to come.”
