Therese has received assurances that MyDentist Woodbridge will continue to provide NHS dentistry following rumours it was going to withdraw the service. Dr Coffey had been contacted by a number of constituents sharing their concern about the future of the Melton-based dental practice but has now received written confirmation from the Practice Manager that they are firmly committed to continuing to serve NHS patients.
Whilst there is an issue with capacity, the practice has also confirmed that they have two new NHS clinicians joining the team shortly and they are continuing to actively recruit more NHS dentists.
Therese said: “It’s important for patients that MyDentist Woodbridge continues to provide NHS services and I thank them for their recent reassurance. The government has invested in dentistry and will continue to do so, including strengthening the contract with dentists. I will shortly be meeting the Chief Executive of the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board, Ed Garratt, to ensure the local NHS is doing everything it can to avoid dental deserts in the county.”
