Therese has launched a competition for local arts and community organisations to get their hands on £500 from the House of Commons Speaker’s Art Fund.
The Grants Scheme is designed to help deliver local constituency arts and educational projects with a focus on increasing the understanding of Parliamentary democracy across the UK.The Art Fund is funded through income from the sales of Christmas cards and tours of Speaker’s House.
Therese said: “This is a great initiative and I want to ensure that a local group here in Suffolk Coastal is successful. Only one entry from each constituency can be considered though and it must include a letter of recommendation from me. I am, therefore, asking organisations to send me an email with details of their project when submitting their application so I can support one of the applications.”
Details of how to apply can be found at: https://www.parliament.uk/business/commons/the-speaker/speakers-art-fund/speakers-art-fund-democracy-for-all-grant/
A request for a supporting letter should be made via: [email protected].
Please submit your application and ask for the letter of support by the 22nd of August 2023.
