Therese was delighted to help celebrate 125 years of Felixstowe Railway Station and the Orwell Hotel last Saturday.
Therese said: "Felixstowe station has seen many changes over the years but since I became an MP I have consistently pressed for improvements for the Felixstowe line. The late Cllr Graham Newman and I successfully pressed for the need to retain a full passenger service, as well as enabling freight services to expand to support Felixstowe Port and its key role in growing our economy. I also pressed for the introduction of state-of-the-art new trains, with air conditioning, automatic doors, wif-fi and plug sockets, that came into service in 2019, arriving at Felixstowe on 19th November at 6.36am. Well done to all involved in this special celebration, including the brownies and rainbows who made their first-ever train trip, hopefully the first of many."
