Woodbridge Art Club is having a closing exhibition, after being forced out of their premises by Woodbridge Town Council at the end of March. Therese popped in to see the display by this community of artists and potters and bought a painting of the Tide Mill by local resident, Barbara Ray.
Therese said: "I have been trying to help the club resolve the situation with the Town Council. Responses from the Mayor have not been encouraging though there is the potential for the club to share the site in the future but no timeline has been given for the re-opening of the building. I would like the Mayor and the council to be more transparent on the commissioning of repairs and give a timeline. Meanwhile, the Club is splitting up geographically with the potters meeting up in Felixstowe and the artists using a temporary location."
"I will continue to press the Mayor and Town Council to allow the Art Club to stay in the premises until a timescale for the roof’s repair work has been announced and works get underway. It would be wrong to see it empty this summer."
