Therese has congratulated two local businesses who have been shortlisted as finalists in this year’s Rural Oscars. The Wild Meat Company based in Woodbridge and Maximus Sustainable Fishing from Farnham will be doing battle in the Local Food and Drink category of the Countryside Alliances’ annual awards after successfully securing their place on the East of England shortlist.
The Wild Meat company source and sell venison, game birds and rabbits entirely from farms and estates in East Suffolk whist Maximus, run by former fishermen, Chris Wightman, sources and smokes sustainably caught fish.
Therese said: “Our local produce here in Suffolk is second to none and I’m delighted both of these innovative and sustainable businesses are getting the national recognition they deserve. Congratulations to them.”
