Therese has encouraged mobile network operators to contact her if they’re struggling to get permission for the siting of critical infrastructure. She made the plea at a recent 5G Summit hosted by the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce organised to ensure a more coordinated rollout campaign.
Therese said: “A reliable, fast and efficient mobile network is absolutely crucial for modern life, both domestically and for businesses. The 5G rollout is a huge opportunity for our part of the country, especially our rural communities in Suffolk. Whilst the first port of call, should always be the local authority chief executives, I’m keen to hear from network operators who are struggling to get permission for the rollout of 5G infrastructure to ensure we have a coherent approach across the county.”
Therese added: “The Better Broadband for Suffolk rollout was coordinated extremely well by Suffolk County Council and we need something similar for mobile connectivity.”
