Therese is backing Kevin Foster MP’s Private Members Bill to ratify the Global Ocean Treaty.

Therese said: "In September 2023, when I attended the UN General Assembly, I joined our Foreign Office minister in signing the UK up to the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Treaty. One of the most important treaties that we will ever have to protect biodiversity in our oceans. I think we need to get on quickly in ratifying this treaty and not wait till next year."
