As we move into the bathing season, Therese is pleased to report that all the designated bathing waters in Suffolk Coastal have been rated Excellent by the Environment Agency. This includes Southwold The Denes which has improved in classification from Good to Excellent. Whilst Southwold The Pier, Felixstowe North and Felixstowe South retain their Excellent status. The newly designated bathing site at Waldringfield will be rated this year. Up to 20 samples at each site will be collected throughout the bathing season which runs from mid-May until the end of September. The ongoing monitoring helps the Environment Agency determine where action is needed to address any pollution. More information here.
