Therese has communicated to residents of both Priory Park and Whitearch Park Homes sites to confirm that they should have finally received their £200 energy support payment, as part of the Government’s unprecedented financial support to help households with their energy bills. It comes following a recent campaign by Therese to ensure park home sites in East Suffolk, particularly in Priory Park and Benhall, benefitted from the government Alternative Fuels Payments. The AFP scheme was set up to support households not connected to the mains gas grid who use alternative fuels such as LPG.
Therese said: “The majority of residents applied to the scheme via the dedicated hotline or website but then no contact was made by officials. I subsequently shared my concerns with East Suffolk Council, their revenues team and the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, asking him to look into the situation. After some quite lengthy correspondence, I’m delighted to report the situation has been sorted out.
Therese added: “It is vital that park home residents are properly considered in the future, both for Government and local authority support. I will continue to champion the case for park home residents within Government.”
