Last year, England became European Champions for the first time in history when the Lionesses lifted the UEFA Women’s Euro trophy.
To mark International Women’s Day today, Leiston Primary School and Langer Primary Academy & Kingsfleet Primary School based in Felixstowe took part in the Biggest Ever Football Session, getting as many girls as possible to all play football on the same day.
The government also announced today that every girl will have the opportunity to do the same sports as boys in school – with a minimum of 2 hours of PE a week – so future generations can bring it home.
