Flood Warnings Available to EE Customers in Suffolk
EE customers in Suffolk who live in specific flood risk areas can sign up to a free Environment Agency scheme to receive flood warnings direct to their mobile phone. Since 2010, the Floodline Warnings Direct service has enabled homes and businesses to receive flood warnings to their landlines, but this is the first time warnings will have been issued through a mobile phone provider.
Therese said: "This initiative from the Environment Agency is a great example of how the Government is making more data and technology available to help people plan and prepare for potential floods.
"While nothing can take away the distress it can cause, it is important that everyone has access the right information, including the flood risk in their area, to give them peace of mind. I know the Environment Agency are planning to work with other mobile phone providers to further extend their warning service."
